The incident took place in Naples, Florida, where the bear managed to open the sliding glass door of the family’s lanai, a screened-in porch area. Once inside, the bear proceeded to rummage through the refrigerator and pantry, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake.

The homeowner, who wishes to remain anonymous, told Fox 21 News that they initially thought the intruder was a human burglar. However, upon closer inspection, they discovered it was a bear with only three legs. The bear had apparently lost one of its front legs, but that didn’t stop it from breaking into the home and indulging in some White Claw Hard Seltzers.

The family was understandably shocked and frightened by the unexpected visitor. They quickly called the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) for assistance. The FWC arrived on the scene and managed to safely remove the bear from the property without any harm to the animal or the family.

This isn’t the first time a bear has been spotted in the Naples area. In fact, bears are quite common in Florida, with the state being home to around 4,000 black bears. However, it’s not every day that a bear breaks into a home and helps itself to some alcoholic beverages.

The FWC advises residents to take precautions to avoid attracting bears to their homes. This includes securing garbage cans, removing bird feeders, and keeping pet food indoors. Additionally, it’s essential to keep doors and windows locked, especially when living in areas with known bear activity.

As for the three-legged bear, it’s unclear how it lost its leg, but it’s evident that the animal has adapted well to its disability. The bear’s taste for White Claw Hard Seltzers may be unusual, but it serves as a reminder that wild animals can be unpredictable and that it’s essential to take precautions to keep both humans and animals safe.

In this case, the bear was safely removed from the property, and no one was harmed. However, the incident serves as a reminder of the importance of securing homes and taking necessary precautions to avoid attracting wildlife.
